Tis the season
Must the season for rescues and adoptions. In addition to Ball Python that Animal Control sent over earlier this year and the other "ball python" recently that looks like a 6' gray ratsnake, I have had a few others. A few other Ball Python calls that we made arrangements for. Then I adopted a cali king and subadult jungle carpet from a friend as a favor since he is moving somewhere he can't keep snakes.
Tonight I had a call for a 6' boa who is settling in nicely. She is a little thin, but otherwise healthy. The owner had died and the son got my name so I made a special trip to get her. Actually quite a pretty Columbian.
Pretty sure I have at least a Copperhead coming in shortly to babysit as well.
I need a staff.

It is getting a little rough since with my new job I am working 10-12 days and weekends. I am not nearly as productive during my herp time much less my online time. I have stacks of PMs and emails waiting to be addressed, but feeding and cleaning critters comes first. Luckily my I can view rtb just fine on my phone so I can maybe hit one thread a day while eating lunch.

Does the season ever end? Burms, green iguanas and alligators, are a year round thing up here. Good luck with the rescues I hope to take in more someday.

As I've said before, 6 feet is the magic number when a red tail becomes unwanted. They are all over the rescues and craigslist down here.

Re: Tis the season
Well, the boa took a f/t jumbo like a champ. That makes me happy.
Heck, I still have one boa in quarantine because it will only eat sporadically and will only take live. To me, that just aint right. Poor thing has been there for like a year now. Fecals and everything are clear and she appears healthy, but an adult boa not taking f/t falls under a JAR diagnosis.

I think that was what I was diagnosed with, too.
