Rtb & Rtc
Maybe this is an obvious question. But why do both RTB.net and RTC exist? I am sort of new here....and I visit both sites. It seems these two sites are almost mirror images of one another. For instance people often post the exact same thread topic on both forums. Wouldn't it make sense just to combine both sites into one?
Was just thinking about this...thoughts?

Re: Rtb & Rtc
Since everyone else is chicken....
RTC developed from a member here on RTB. It was meant as a middle of ground site between RTB and Snakehook.net, however, as you have stated, RTC and RTB look pretty much the same anymore.
But dig a little deeper, that is all I can say (ssssshhhhhh....the spies are everywhere; they are listening).
So with the mirror threads....did you post the same thing over there? LOL

Haha no. I just read the forum almost everyday....and it seems many users copy and paste their posts between sites. I just think it makes more sense to consolidate all the knowledge we have in one place...I dunno maybe that makes too much sense lol

Re: Rtb & Rtc
I personally copy and paste my posts to about 6 different sites regularly and a couple of more from time to time. There is good information and points of view to be picked up from many different sources so I frequent many. I can't speak for anyone else but from one post copy and pasted to a few different sites, I get many different responses and points of view that I might not get just posting on one. I don't feel a person should have to "choose" between sites. The reptile community can be much more interesting if we can all do our own thing AND come together.
Just my two cents.

Also, as a side note, you will notice that the more forums you frequent, the more you will notice alot of the same names. That is how many community friendships are forged

I guess your title is well earned with a post like that. I have no idea where you got the idea that the site was created to be similar to snakehook.net You must be
The similarities between the sites: The both start in "red tail" and end in "net" and they are forums. Thats about it. Like dank said, I too am a member of like 6 different sites. Each community offers something different.
Wanna-be site rivalry drama is totally unnecessary. As far as I know everyone is welcome everywhere.

That isn't what I said...or at least not what I meant..... When Johnny started RTC, he stated that it was meant to be an inbetween site that didn't go to either of the extremes that he viewed SH and RTB as going. He wanted a middle ground with a more relaxed atmosphere. It started when the "site war" (pretty much a one sided one there, lol) was going on between RTB and SH. Trust me, I remember this very clearly because it was when it first started that I joined as Natas and Louise joined as RevMojo and we started messing with him as a joke. He thought I was going to sell him the RTB logo for RTC ahhh... good times, good times..... but after we got banned, and then were allowed to come back as ourselves, he explained the manifesto of RTC. On the surface they look similar, but are different when you get down to it.

Re: Rtb & Rtc
Banned you say? See we really arent in the habit of banning people. We have actually only banned 3 people since the start of the forum. And is banning trolls [i.e. people who join a forum to start drama] really a bad thing anyway? [you arent on the list of banned members btw, and since you were allowed to join as yourselves, I wouldnt exactly say that you were banned]
