Hey all, I might be gone for a couple days, I have a trojan virus and that "Windows anti-virus" which I understand actually IS a virus. Be careful all. Im trying my hardest to kill this sucker.

Get AVG free anti-virus off of download.com. Best thing ever. Never had a virus since.

Good luck with that... back up all your files on a CD and MAKE SURE the virus didn't attach itself to them.

I am using AVG as we speak, didnt pick up a thing. Although the "virus vault" has some trojans in it. I guess thats a good sign. Thanks everyone.

I also use AVG and it's been great. Before, I used PCcillin which worked well also.

I had AVG before, some how it got through. I re-downloaded AVG though, Im going to keep the AVG scan on all day, I have 5 trojans in the vault now. Thats good that they are there right?

If they're trojans that were detected and are in "quarantine" or are ready to get cleaned up, then yes I would assume thats a good thing.

Thank god lol, I have a Malware pop up in the corner. With a little yeild sign and a "!" in the middle that says

System Alert: Malware threats

Your computer is infected with a back door Trojan that allows the remote attacker to preform various malicious actions. Click this baloon to download malware removal software.

Its in the lower right hand corner by my clock. I dont want to click on it.

No definitely don't click that. AVG should get rid of everything. Alternatively, I use Spybot. Its supposed to be made by a guy here in Ireland. I work in tech support and use spybot for a lot of those nasty trojans / spyware.

Yes I would delete the virus's from the vault. Have you installed anything lately that may have installed this trojan along with it?

update:

After running the AVG over and over and over I caught a few trojans. Some how my dang clock got set to military time lol. Its still giving me a lot of trouble but the Windows AntiVirus stuff is gone but now there is another Antivirus 2009 popping up.

Becareful guys make sure you know what your clicking on, thats all it takes is a click. If you dont have it all ready get free AVG!!! run it everyday!!

I might make sure every one in the house doesnt need anything on here and just reboot the whole thing, The only thing I need is my website HTML.

Even if the button says "Your computer will explode in 5 seconds if you don't click this button".... DON'T CLICK IT!!!!!!
