Re: new animal for my little bro
does he want one thats handleable or one just to look at? what about a uromastix (sp?), i dont know much about these so maybe someone else can chime in, its the first thing that came to mind when you said no beardies or leo's. a chameleon would be great if he wants one just too look pretty...

Re: new animal for my little bro
Uros require almost the same care that a beardie does...although neither are that hard to keep. A UTH and a UV bulb keeps them happy.
Chinese water dragons are cool, but require some sort of water feature in their habitat.
I know you said no leos, but they are probably the easiest to keep.
Any reptile you get is going to require some degree of habitat and care.

Re: new animal for my little bro
A TOKAY! They make the perfect little pets! Cheap too. A decent sized male only goes for about $12. Verbal too. I can tell when he barks that he's yelling obscenities at me in Tokay lingo. Mine only goes out of its way to bite me about 20 times acage cleaning.
Enjoy the new demon,
TBH

David's bro, Daniel doesn't have enough space for any of those animals mentioned. I think he's limited to geckos and skinks.

Re: new animal for my little bro
Some skinks require lots of space but a little bugger like a five lined could definitely live in a 20L.

Re: new animal for my little bro
My cousin who is 8 wants a bearded dragon. I've convinced her to start with a crested gecko.

Re: new animal for my little bro
I'd go with a crested. Don't need more than a 10 gal, little to no external heating, and quite honestly the only way to kill one is to step on it lol

Yeah, they are very hardy little boogers! I have two males and they don't show any territorial aggression like most other lizard species do.

Re: new animal for my little bro
i say go with a crested gecko.. or i used to have a viper gecko, they are great geckos, they stay small, (around 3 inches) very docile, you can keep a trio of adults in a 10 gal, and not super expensive, i bought mine from a breeder for about $30. only problem i had was finding good and acurate care information and a good breeder, but i think i still have some good care info saved on my comp somewhere and can try to track down the breeder i got mine from if your interested.
or maybe an african fat tail?
