I am SOOOO #$%^$%^$%^$%^$%^$%^& right now! I shipped out both groups of auctioned leos Monday from the post office, because they are the only ones in this area that will knowingly accept lizards. They even looked up the regs while I was there to make sure it was ok, and the girl at the desk wrote "live reptiles" all over the sides, in addition to what I had written on the top. Well, BOTH packages are now on there way back to me! I have no idea why, they never even made it to their new owners. If it's because they're reptiles, I'm gonna pitch a MAJOR fit. So what do I do now? I'm definitely going to hang on to them for at least a few days before trying to re-ship them, to let them get over the stress. But now how do I ship? I REALLY don't want to try the post office again, after this. Do I go with FedEx and lie about what's in the boxes? I don't suppose there are any of you who'd want to help hand deliver them from Illinois to GA and CA? I can't beleive this is happening, I've never had anything like this happen before. I'm so mad, and so flabbergasted, I just don't know what to do. Help!!!

to ship live lizards through US Mail (which is legal) You have to label the box with the quantity, and the common and scientific name of the lizards inside.

DO NOT - I repeat - DO NOT ship anything living through Fed-Ex or UPS. Especially if they won't know it's alive. As a loader at a big UPS facility, I can tell you that you don't want your lizards to go through that.
Well, I have to amend that, I guess. Trees, nightcrawlers and crickets are the only good examples of the living making it through that I even desire to think about. Anything else is in perilous peril

Ok, the gex are here, and everyone seems to be ok. Heat packs worked good, and they were still plenty warm. They said the airline refused them because it was too cold. Well maybe thats because the idiots drove them all the way to Cedar Rapids and tried to put them on the plane in the middle of the night! There's a perfectly good major airport right here in Moline, so I have no idea why they had to go all the way to Cedar Rapids. The weather would have been fine if they hadn't tried to put them on the plane at 2 in the morning. And of course, it's going to be cold for the next week and a half, so who knows when it will be warm enough to ship again. What a pain!

PLease please please do NOT ship any live reptiles, animals, etc. with Fedex or any
other major shipping business. Being a 19 year employee at fedex, I know for certain
that no living creature would make it through our system. (unless its something the company
gains positive exposure from, i.e. the pandas from china that were sent to D.C.) In those
instances special procedures are set up. So if you have used us and lied about the contents
you are taking a huge risk. I know that doesn't leave much options in transporting reptiles,
I just wanted to get this out there that Fedex, UPS, are not the way to go and I would hate
to see any live creature go through such torture. Which is exactly what it would be for them.
