Gus are you there? Hope you and yours are OK. I know you may have lost power (apart from getting very wet). Been watching it on the Weather Channel...Jim Cantore was in his "element" on S. Padre Island!

Everything here is a mess still but nothing permanently trashed. We did better than many. I've been out with my truck and axe and chainsaw for the last few days pitching in to clean up some friend's places.

That Cyclura mom deserves the 'parent of the year' award. She stayed on top of her nest mound in the rain and wind and never wavered. She built the mound up with every bit of mud and gravel and whatever.. poor thing was wasted from just laying 17 goose-egg sized eggs.. she wouldn't leave the nest. I went out to rescue her and she let me pick her up but as soon as I would try to take her into her house she'd struggle and thrash to get back to her nest..
