When i see heavyweights, they walk into the ring all pudgy cause they don't have a weight cap. that's lazy. look at lesner, carwin, dos santos, cotoure, even reletively unknown guys like dufee are cut and in the heavyweight division. Mir was in the best shape of his life that fight with brock cause he knew he was about to die and he still didn't have abs. it's his professional job to be fit and he can't do it? BJ Pen bugs me the same way. how can you be pudgy at 155? lame.
fight between nog and mir stunk. nog is a boxer and he kept backing up in a straight line and getting knocked down, moving slow, just lame. he looked like he was stoned. if i had never seen him do better it'd be different, but he should have been doing better.
I know exactly why anderson didn't go in against maia, he knew he'd get tapped. watch maia's fights, he takes a few jabs, falls back and taps em out. the dude is nuts on the ground and anderson knows it. he stayed back out of fear, which is why there was all the trash talk in the ring in porteugese.
carwin brock stunk, i wanted to see lesner lose, but he didn't. people got mad and said ref should have called it in first round, but you could see carwin wasn't landing most of his punches and when brock had the chance he got to his feet lightening fast. second round lesner had it. carwin shouldn't have gotten so excited about not hitting lesner in the first round haha. honestly i can see dos santos taking the belt. long way off, but i'd enjoy that fight. also like to see werdun in the UFC.
james tony i think will be taken out, but it's an old man fight. whoever tires out first i guess. you can believe james tony has been training for a while before making this decision, so he'll probably have faster hands than randy and at least some ground game. I think randy just has too much experience though. so i guess i'd rather see randy take it.
oh, and you girls are ridiculous. here i am gone at work and you all start swooning over the dude from pokemon. yeesh.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
In a few weeks I'm going to reunite with a long-lost childhood friend of mine that I haven't seen in 17 years.
Am I excited? Yes.

206 is really good for a guy that's 6'2, man. You're a half inch taller than me and well....let's say I outweigh you a bit. I'd have to cut weight to fight Brock at this point, bro, haha...but heck, even when I was in my most recent prime of working out, I was still ringing in at 285. I had a pro-bodybuilder/cop friend of mine tell me once that he could see me at 280 and I told him he was full of it (this was back when I was like 235), but I guess he was right. 8 hours is too much - I can get all the benefit of that at 4 hours or even 2 and a half, at a certain point all you're doing is burning everything up just for the heck of it....and I try to avoid exercise bulemia, myself.

That's not lazy - that's how their body is made up. They workout enough and expend enough energy training to stay healthy. Leave all that "oh my body needs to be this way" crap to the models in Hollywood, brotha, this is fighting. If you make weight, none of that other crap matters.

Sooooo..fit = having a 6 pack? Lulz....dude, you can't even see a single muscle on, let's say, Nelson's abdomen, but I garuntee you that man can run, lift, and most definitely grapple, box, etc like a 185er or 205er, no doubt about it. Being fit is based on your actions much moreso than your looks.

Well, Nog did have a staff infection, and that definitely makes a difference. It's rare to see a fighter with (or recovering from) staph go in there and just destroy the other guy. Example: Sanchez/Koscheck 2. You can say, in all fairness, that Diego's staff infection cost him that fight - I think it's the same thing with Nog, honestly.....not to take anything away from Mir, I think he's a good fighter, myself. He just sucks against big wrestlers....bad. lol...

Yeah, that explains why Silva didn't go into Maia's gaurd....that would be stupid for anyone. But it made ZERO sense to not finish him with strikes when your reach has you fairly far outside, ya know? I hate that about Anderson - he's such an awesome fighter when he takes chances, when he doesn't, he's as boring (or as irritating) as they get. Honestly, it's his effort to keep the belt - before he had the belt he was just going apecrap on Leben and Franklin, and didn't do all that namby-pamby horsepoo crap talking. Furthermore, it's not like Maia wasn't trying to take Silva to the ground on his own (which is more than any of us can say for Leites), he was just very bad at it, lol.

I'm assuming you know he was in the UFC once already, eh? Werdum had his shot, and right or wrong - he got let go. I think Werdum's a good fighter and should've had at least another fight in the UFC, however....JDS putting him to sleep was freakin devastating.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Also, being fit does NOT mean seeing ripped abdominals. having a healthy BF% when working out is the most important thing. Your body will still metabolize fat for energy PWO with weight lifting, something not accomplished with strictly cardio.
anyway. there is no reason to be cut on a consistent basis unless you're coming off a bulk and entering a competition.

AHHHH I know who you're talking about - he fought Tim Sylvia and gassed so hard he could barely verbally submit, lol. Yeah, sweetie, he's not in the UFC - he fought that fight in Moosin, a much smaller amatuer circuit in Massachusetts. Honestly, I was curious about him coming into mma, because normally huge build guys don't do well. They gas very easily, as was the case with Pudz. The only really built dude I can think off that doesn't gas fast currently is Brock Lesnar, well...and Kevin Randlemann, wherever he's fighting now.

oh i thought it was some ufc special thing where he fought. Oops. :X
I'm pretty sure he's still training and wants to fight in the UFC. I just think he's too big. I still loves him though.

His heart's in the right place, but unless he builds some serious cardio and drops a good 30 lbs in muscle, he's going to have a hard time.
