I should have known I was in for it when he told me to get a glove before I opened the box. But no, I'm all like "Pfft, I can handle a rat" and so I open the box and the thing LEAPS out of it at my face. I dodge it like the matrix and scream and off it scurries under the bookshelf.
20 minutes later everything in my living room is piled in the center of the floor, I'm standing on a chair brandishing a boot, Husband is chasing it from one end of the room to the other, the useless cat is hiding under the bed, and the dog got overexcited and pooed on the floor. My buddy shows up and is sucked into the madness. He's in the house for 10 seconds before the rat runs across his feet and I get to watch him do the "Oh my god rat just touched me" dance.
We finally trapped it under a bowl and the snake got his dinner. But good lord, when someone tells you a rat is crazy just take them at their word. We're now going to refer to this as The Grand Rat Fiasco of 2010.

I rock it old skool every now and again and break out my Magic cards. Nothing like going to an all night diner with your nerd friends and taking the biggest table in the joint and still not having enough room.

they do that on purpose. i kid you not i used to go to a gym that had a dunkin donuts on one side and a dairy queen on the other. it's a conspiracy and evil. pure evilness. now i go to my school's gym...where down the block there's an indoor mall of nothing but fast food. it's a step up. baby step. but nonetheless, a step.

Well, the pancakes are to die for. I've been there twice now. After working out, of course. They have one called Dutch pancake. It's big enough for 2 people.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I did something really, really bad. I indulged my one addiction--clothing. In a really bad way.
I now need to get another p/t job to pay off my credit card. I went through this before and had to pick up a massage job. Guess I'll be doing it again.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I did really good for a year, not really buying any clothes. And I wasn't planning on buying any this year. But it started with a $25 gift cert to REI that I won at work. Of course, you can't just spend $25 there. That started it all. Then I went to Anthropology. Well you can't get a single piece of clothing there for under $100. I only bought one thing (I was so proud).
Then.....it happened. I started thinking about that little boutique up in Breckenridge and the one-of-a-kind things they have there. Very pricey. I decided to make the 2-hour drive up there. I intended to only get one dress.....I tried on about 10 things I liked and couldn't make up my mind so I had to buy them all. I will be the best dressed homeless person at the shelter.
I really need help.

I'm just here, arguing my way across the internet. Everywhere I go today I end up bickering over something.
Aunt Flo makes me testy, I guess.

America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. – John Quincy Adams (1821)
