Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Shaun, Ice, thought I'd let you guys know as you responded to my post...
I spoke with those sons of... this morning about not allowing us to move, renewing the lease, etc...
They're charging us $740 to remain here for a single month, which means that we made our sure-deposit and paid our application fee, reserved transportation for our belonging and all else for absolutely nothing. Now instead of moving on the 26th of February, we're moving the 26th of March.
Better for the snakes...
Not so much my pocket-book.
Did I mention I knew things were going too well to last? Yeah. I was thinking it.
We're fighting it. I e-mailed their corporate office and filed a complaint. I'm slandering them all over every message board that's hit on Google under their name.
They told me that the "issuance of the letter asking whether or not you intend to remain is a courtesy, we are not obligated to provide you with notice either of our wanting to know [if you intend to stay] nor that you're lease has been renewed. We don't need your permission. You signed a lease and this situation should have been explained to you" (13 months ago by someone whom is no longer employed here).
Good times.

The bite is bruised and a little swollen but in my opinion a bit anticlimactic compared to how much pain it caused

Yeah I read that about them too, that's why I was wondering what it looked like.
Snakes are fine with me. Spiders, not so much. I can't say I'm afraid of them... I just inherently don't like them.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Good lord, I would have died of a heart attack before it even had the chance to bite me.
So you know you can get banned for getting bit and failing to post pics. Right? LOL

In fact, just thinking about it is giving me heart palpitations.....you can see I'm not what you'd call a spider person.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I'd rather someone do something horrific like cut off my fingers and toes and rip out every piece of my hair than ever let a spider touch me.
I know logically I shouldn't be afraid, but i'm allergic to venom (bee stings and anaphylactic shock ftl) so my conscious part of me tells me to relax while my unconscious part tells me to flip out, scream, cry, and i have been known to pass out cold.
on multiple occasions.

I'll get really really close to them but I've never held one and have a tendancy to freak out if I get a spider on me. Scorpions don't bother me a bit though.

We do. I back and forthed with one of the of sales-reps for a few months before settling on the apartment. Called her first thing, explained the situation. She pulled a few strings and set it up so that we may move in on the 26th of March (instead of April 1st) at no additional cost. We'll simply pay our rent a week early, no questions asked.
With my and Sarah's work and school schedules, doing much of anything during the week is out of the question so she got us in on the weekend (versus moving in on a Thursday night which would be the 1st of April).
She's very excited to meet the snakes - which she grandfathered in to our lease-agreement - and I'm a bit more comfortable moving them later than earlier, even it won't give Telaisien much time to settle in to anything other than his habitat before being moved, it's safer to go when it's warmer of course, even if it's in the 60s. Just up the road. Shouldn't be problematic.
