Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I feel like crud. Major insomnia last night in conjunction with feeding day, some cage cleaning, and a 4 year old pretty much has me spent. I'm actually laying in bed preparing to go comatose.
On a cooler note I think I'm going to be getting my hissing roaches this weekend.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
To add one more to my list of snake-related concerns; Styx (my three year old male Kenyan Sand boa that was the start of my adoration for that species) just regurgitated a perfectly formed, not at all looking like it had been in the stomach of a snake rat pink two days (almost to the hour) after he ate it.
I have been wracking my brain for any ideas of what could have gone wrong. It was the perfect size, from the same place as I normally get his food, he hasn't seemed sick at all, his basking spot is at the perfect temperature for him, he wasn't handled or disturbed in any way after he ate, and he isn't in shed. The only abnormality that could have possibly caused a regurgitation that comes to mind is that he burrowed in the cool end of the substrate, and I didn’t see him on the hot end until just after the regurge happened. I am all worried about him now.

Very sorry to hear that. I'm really not familiar with the causes of snakes giving back their meals. I suppose I should be.
Good luck with him...even if it takes long nights, impossible odds...

I wouldn't worry too much after just one, if he continually does it, then worry. Sometimes snakes, like mammals....just puke. It happens. Keep him out of the rum....

The scare crow theorem: in an isoscele triangle, the sum of the square roots of two sides is the square root of the third side.

America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. – John Quincy Adams (1821)

I grow one every winter. It's gets itchy about the beginning of the second week, but that goes away after a few days.
