Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Beer run sounds right! I've got absolutely nothing planned for this fine weekend... So for the moment, beer sounds like some kinda plan.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I'll be drinking wine I suppose. I would rather it be vodka and cranberry.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Wine sounds good too But it usually leaves me with an awful headache. I reserve the liquor for parties and social events. Beer is good for chilling around the house with nothing much to do.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Beer makes me want to vomit instantaneously. The only kind I can actually take a few swigs of is Boulevard Wheat. Other than that I have to drink the hard liquor in mixers.
I'd rather have margaritas or something like that.
I just found some Long Island Iced Tea in the fridge. LOL Good times.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I have no interest in drinking this weekend. I am spending my weekend looking at condos/apartments and anticipating the move out of this one. It's sad but kind of exciting at the same time.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Normally, I'd love to go camping this weekend, but there are so many dirt bikes, ATV's, and guns at all the camping places that I need a vacation from the camping trip when I get back.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I just might get drunk because I'm bored. I have no extravagant plans either... besides shopping of course.
Tomorrow if it isn't raining I'll be going out to my friend's house and blowing stuff up and making sure drunk people don't get hurt. Then, I'm off for the rest of the week. I might get a mani-pedi. I don't know. I'm such a GIRL!

Beer is an acquired taste... For most people it takes time and patience before you begin to appreciate and crave it. I used to be the same way (liquor only), but as I get older, the less liquor I can consume before I just forget everything about the time that I'm drinking it It's weird. I have to take it in moderation.

See, everyone I know drinks it and it's in the house often. I could never get over the taste. I'm not a huge drinker anyway. I like to catch a buzz sometimes, but I don't get totally trashed and out of my mind save for maybe once a year.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
It's funny, I've recently moved back to my hometown, but I know virtually no one here anymore. Time has passed both myself and this place by. I guess the 4th will just be any other day.

I'm sorry I feel the same way and I've been here my entire life. I've got 2-3 close friends and that's about it. I'm too introverted to meet any more people. A lot of people who meet me for the first time tell me I'm boring or weird because I have snakes LOL

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
Ok, so I called my friend Erica and she's going to keep me company today. She's been my best friend since elementary school. We look like polar opposites. Half of her head is shaved and dyed neon orange LOL and I look fairly normal... on the outside.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of us may feel this way; I know I do.

That's why we have this forum. If we ever had a meet up of people from here, I'd probably still be sitting in the corner twiddling my thumbs lol

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I have my ups and downs. Maybe I'm bipolar or something. Sometimes I go through spells where I'm as sociable and chatty with everyone as can be, sometimes even manic... And then go through times (like the last couple months actually) where I'm totally solo, and keep to myself, and be quiet and boring in my own little world, just reading, messing with snakes, hanging out in the woods near a river or something, just avoiding the world at large. I dunno.

I think this is rather normal for everyone, and not a disorder.
I've known and been around people with that condition, and it's a flick-of-the-switch sort of emotional fanfare.
This year hasn't been phenominal for me (mostly), and I've been in quiet states much more than my normal upbeat ones. I think everyone can relate in a way.
Keep your chin up, hun.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II
I'm pretty much placid and "dull" most of the time. My brother's friend's fiance came over one day and he asked to see my snakes. Turned out he had a ball python collection and talked for hours. I never met him before, but he was really cool. I've known his fiance for a while, though. But that's the last long conversation I've had with a person I didn't know... while not intoxicated.

I can relate to this. I'm an extrovert by nature, but I think I'd be more sociable if the majority of people did not grate on my nerves. I've done quite a bit of silent meditation and once went to a silent retreat where we did not speak or make eye contact with anyone for 3 months. It was amazing. Since then, my lifestyle has been very quiet. It would take a very special person for me to want to share my home with someone. Most people seem loud, rude, and TV/noise-driven to me.

Yeah. I agree with you. The past year of my life has been an emotional rollercoaster and I'll admit that I'm not in the best of spirits and haven't been since. My Dad had a stroke last May and I found him on the bathroom floor. Things just went down hill from there because he brought most of the income into the house. I worry about him constantly and I dread getting calls at work for fear of something happening to him again.
