*sigh* my cat managed to walk on my laptop twice and turn it off. Consecutively. Free cat, anyone?

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II

Don't get me started on the domesticated mammal front right now. The mini-dachsunds in my household have me in a RAGE today.

My little cat also loves to walk on keyboards whenever he sees me on the PC. But I forgive him, because he's a fun little dude.

Oh, and Cream-of-Wheat FTW! With butter and sugar... Mmmm... and yes, I eat grits the same way

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II

My cat literally smacks me in the face to wake me up for breakfast. There is no meowing, no making bread in bed to wake me up, just a nice, claw filled slap.

Oh, and if I DON'T get up right away, she beats her bag of food until I do get up.

My cat has a super-nose. You could open something with tuna in it five miles away and she'd be up your leg and howling in seconds.

It's annoying.

I don't even like marshmallows out of a bag. I would have no interest in plucking them out of a bunch of leprechauns.

Now marshmallow fluff with peanut butter in a sandwich. Different story. YUM

Hmm, I wonder if our cats were separated at birth Mine wakes me up almost every single morning by either swatting me in the cheek, or biting my hand just hard enough, followed by plenty of "meeew, mewww" He also loves to play fetch, and begs to play all the time. What a weirdo.

And for the record... I lived in FL, and love the seafood...but...I prefer quality-cooked, fresh Maine Lobster (salty, huh?) to Spiny (not too shabby) any day of the week...

How's this... This cat ripped our carpet up. And I don't mean, sharpened her claws on it... I mean she TORE IT OFF THE TACK STRIP everywhere it meets tile....and we JUST got it re-stretched at the end of last week (guy did a crappy job when he installed it..so we had to get it re-done). Then today, she puked into the vents on the top of our dish network tv box...and its fried. Joy. I can't WAIT to see how much those suckers cost. She's SO out of here. There's an ad on the internet for her right now. She was a rescue, and has been nothing but the devil's spawn since she got here. I can't wait until we find her a new home. She pulls stupid crap like this CONSTANTLY.

Aww...I feel sorry for her (and you ) I've been lucky that all cats I've had were really good in the long run, never destructive, they just had strange and funny little quirks about them. We had all of them since they were tiny babies though, so I'm sure that helps.

KB, you're getting rid of your cat? The cute one that cuddles up with you at night? I can't believe you are serious! You know whoever gets her will probably declaw her if they know about her "problem".

Have you tried clipping her nails? I do Destructo's every two weeks. There are also these things called "pretty paws" that you can have the vet put on her nails that protect your house.

Re: The Useless Large Thread... Part II

I have a long list of stuff Destructo has destroyed even with her nails clipped. I once had a pizza sitting on the coffee table open. She leaped on the table and stepped on the open flap. The entire box and pizza went flying and landed upside down on the carpet leaving permanent grease stains.

Another time I had a dropcloth down in the living room and was painting some furniture. I had the top of the paint can sitting face up on the dropcloth with black paint on it. She walked right on it and then proceeded to track little black pawprints all over the carpet. The landlord was not impressed. That's the kind of stuff she does.

I've never had a cat like this...and I've had cats for 22...almost 23 years! This one is EVIL. Pure evil -- destroys everything! lol...Read below

No, not that one. Pookie is the best cat ever...and I would never part with her. Clipping her nails doesn't help...she's destructive in every way possible.
.
She chewed my fake plants so bad that they all had to be thrown out (She managed to do this in about 8 hours, while I was away at work). They were literally falling apart....shredded...when I got home.
.
She opens my kitchen cabinets all the time. This is not good. Here's two fun things I had to deal with from her doing this:
.
She knocked the garlic powder, pepper, and salt out of the cabinet, and on to the floor, where they busted EVERYWHERE. That SUCKED to clean up...and my kitchen made me sneeze for at least a week...the garlic smell lasted at least a month.
.
She knocked over EVERY glass in the cabinet. Broke 8 wine glasses, 3 coffee cups, like 10 regular tall glasses, 10(?) regular short glasses, and all of my shot glasses I had collected from vacations, etc. A total of 5 glasses/mugs survived.
.
She's gone through at least a dozen rolls of toilet paper and paper towels equally, simply for the enjoyment of tearing them to shreds, and scattering them all over the house.
.
She also LOVES to get into the fire place, roll in the ashes, and then go roll on the carpet. Its about $200 each time to have the carpet cleaned...and those stains never seem to come out 100%.
.
She chewed up my blackberry pearl about 2 months after I got it...the phone I paid about $400 for...so bad, that the corner buttons in the bottom right corner didn't work anymore. I couldn't call anyone with a '9' in their number that wasn't stored in my phone already.
.
I'll think of a few more things when I've got some more time. The list is endless....
.
I know that some people may think its "so horrible"...but trust me, if it were happening to you, you'd be doing the same thing!!! She's cost us about $1200 in destroyed or damaged property...in less than one year....I'm sure we'll be looking at around $1500 when we have to pay for the dish box she ruined tonight.
