My parents live in the same town as me, so my mom made me a "hurricane kit" in the event of a disasterous hurricane (so I can just go there and hunker down). It has all of my favorite non perishable foods, batteries, powered milk, jugs of water, a little propane stove, flashlights, a generator (holla!), etc. My dad's kit is really sophisticated (he's the head of DCF in our area)..its got packs of pens, waterproof legal pad, and even a lap top (its his old one). I love my mom, shes always prepared for anything...only thing I'm not prepared for is snakey food. I hardly ever keeps rats in the house

Your mom rocks!! (Even though there's no coffee cake). Very complete except for the lack of a handgun or the like which I would not be without, in a disaster.

I LOVE the waterproof legal pad and want to know more, that way when my clients cry after seeing their bill they won't ruin my work.
