This may not be "Bananas Foster" but for you Kentuckians, it uses some of your native bourbon. It also involves flames!
4 slices of Banana Nut Bread, toasted lightly
2 ripe Bananas, sliced
1 stick unsalted butter
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Makers Mark to taste
Vanilla Icecream
Cut banana bread into 1/2" thick slices, lightly toast.
Over medium heat, melt butter in a medium saute pan. When bubbling add brown sugar and vanilla extract. Let cook 2-3 minutes. Add bananas and stir. Cook another 2 minutes. Add Makers Mark and stir. Light pan with a torch or flame from gas stove. Let alcohol burn off. Place 2 slices of toasted bread in each of two serving bowls, add 2 healthy scoops of icecream and top with half of banana mixture each. Enjoy!
