Re: How many of you follow the 6 foot rule
I hope that is a joke. Would stunting a snakes growth by underfeeding be ethical? I think it is just better to have a heart-to-heart with them and let them know that if they want to continue living in your house, they cannot grow past a certain size.

Not a joke, but an attitude some people do have...
More sarcasm then joke,...
and yes, Star, it would be very unethical.

Re: How many of you follow the 6 foot rule
I think more often you find lots of yahoos that powerfeed to get their snakes to be monsters in the first year, cause they think it's cool. I've never heard of underfeeding to keep them small. They both sound abusive/neglectful to me.

Re: How many of you follow the 6 foot rule
there was a guy on here not to long ago that posted how he barely fed his burm to keep it small. when he was yelled at for it he said it is better for him to do that then to have it killed cause it got to big. i got infractions over that by mods/admins on here and also good rep points from the same mods/admins. i posted the snake isn't the thing that needs to die. so yes i got infractions and good rep points all by the smae people.

Re: How many of you follow the 6 foot rule
I have never had a 6' rule. I have always had a 12' rule. But as it has been noted numerous times, it depends on the snake. But just for moving them or something, I could not foresee needing help on anything less than 8'. Snakehooks work on boids too
