Animal Smuggling news report
This is from Channel 2 in Atlanta. Jason is a good guy and talked to quite a few people before helping on this story. If he had not done it, they may have found some idiot to do it. The part that disturbs me is that they infer that the Gaboon Viper came from Glades. I can’t confirm that, but I can confirm that the dealer offered the information on how to get around GA law by shipping to SC. Unfortunately, I have seen Glades do some unethical sales of venomous in the past, so it doesn’t surprise me

Re: Animal Smuggling news report
I'm a little confused on the shipping.
So the ven was shipped to SC and then transported another way to GA?
If this is so...they did it because the shipping was illegal? Or to get around a permit? Or both?

Re: Animal Smuggling news report
It was getting an illegal animal into the state without permits. The account that I got was essentially "Hey, I want to guy this Gaboon Viper and have it shipped to GA" ....... "We can't ship to GA without a copy of a permit. But if you can have it shipped to South Carolina, we can send it without any permits". So it was shipped to SC and transported by vehicle to GA (smuggled into the state). The dealer basically walked them through how to get an illegal snake into GA with full knowledge.

Re: Animal Smuggling news report
They ordered a Gaboon viper as well and had it shipped to see if it would be questioned if they had permits, etc. I don't have the link, sorry. I know about it because the reporter came here to interview Patrick's father about the retic.
