Re: Rodent Pro
I am going the route of having a small rack system and breeding rats for the sizes from pinkies up to weaned or small, possibly medium. The other large sizes I still order in bulk online... because as BW said, it takes way too long to raise up jumbos that I need for my adult boas. Right now I only have 3 female rats and 2 males but hopefully that is all I will need.
And, I'm not paying $50 per bag of 100 pinkies or fuzzies from RodentPro. That jacks up the price of buying in bulk EXTREMELY fast.

I have a deal worked out with a local shop that wants to start getting their pet rodents from me. So I get to breed for cool colors and patterns with feeders as a byproduct. Kindof fun. I just had a litter of Blues born a couple days ago and 4 litters of mice, and one litter of black mohawk gerbils.

Re: Rodent Pro
I buy from a local guy and he take good care of me as I buy in bulk. Last night I paid $82.00 for a small order of rats. Here is what I got for my money 16 X large rats, 8 medium rats, 12 small rats and 6 mice. So each rat only cost me about $1.95 Most of the time my order is 3 to 4 times the amount of rats so that is why he gives me a good price.
If any one lives near North West Indiana I can hook you up with a good rat breeder. The only bad thing is you have to pick them up at his place. He will also gas them for you so you don't have to kill them your self unless you are into that. LOL He has about 4,000 rats and around 8,000 to 10,000 mice in stock every week.
Most of the time this is what he charges everyone for rats give or take .25 cents.
Large to X large rats. $3.50
Mediums rats. $2.50
Small rats. $1.50
Pups. $1.25
Just a side note in my opinion most XXX large to jumbo rats are bad to feed to your snakes. As they have to much fat content in them and this is not good for your snake.
To much fat and you will have very runny and smelly poop to clean up. I have even had brown oil floating in my snakes water dish when they defecated in it after feeding them jumbo rats. I no longer feed any boa any rat bigger than X large rat. If your snake can eat a XX large to jumbo rat then it can eat a rabbit. I only pay $5.00 each for my rabbits I get from another breeder. The rabbits are 3 to 5 lbs to but I do have to kill them myself.
Take care
Tom
