Prettiest thing about snakes...
I think it's the pattern of the scales. Not so much the color, but the way they grow, etc. First thing I noticed when I got my boa was how completely different the scales on her head were from my corn snake's. I think things like that are fascinating to look at and compare.
So......
What do you find prettiest or most interesting to look at about snakes? Obviously one of the allures of snakes is that they're so unique, there are things to look at about a snake that you don't see in any other animal. What do you think is the prettiest, most interesting, or most fun to look at and think about.

Re: Prettiest thing about snakes...
Having had a couple of corn snakes, for their coloring and docility I was surprised when I got my first boa.
The shape of her head is what really surprised me and made me appreciate her beauty. The muscles and the upturned nose.
LOVE boas now.

Re: Prettiest thing about snakes...
Ive been fascinated with snakes ever since I was little. My grandmother would always try to make my grandfather kill snakes that he found in the yard or in his garden and I would always talk him out of it, and we would fib to my grandmother about it. Im not sure exactly what fascinated me so much then, but that fascination has stuck. There are several things that I think are beautiful on snakes. One thing is how they utilize how little they have. Its not like they have arms or anything, its just a head, a body, and tail. But yet they have survived the test of time. They are built so awkward, and perfectly at the same time. Also it amazes me how polar their feeding response is, compared to how they can be when handled. They can seem so violent and angry, even when feeding on f/t food, but that same snake can be the most docile animal when being handled. I learn about snakes day in an day out, just from personal experience, and its so rewarding. I could go on and on, but its 3:00am and if I go any farther, it will be 5:00AM. lol

Their size . Sorry I am a sucker for giant animals, I find humbling (and a bit frightening) to know my spot on the food chain. Seeing any large reptile makes me feel like a kid in the candy store.

Re: Prettiest thing about snakes...
I also like giant animals.I love snakes and big snakes because they are so beautiful, clean, quiet, and the way they dont annoy anthing. Like how a dog, cat, or bird..... can at times. Snakes are my style, and I love the head, eyes, and mouth. And the body is a big awsome muscle, with beautiful scales.

Re: Prettiest thing about snakes...
Let's see.. The eyes, the strength, the fluid-like ability in which they move, the scale-patterns, the colors, the list goes on, 'cuz I can't find one thing to single out that I love most about them.
But in ball pythons, I'd have to say it's the shape of that darn head of theirs! That cute little peanut-shaped noggin' they got goin' on there, with their lil' heat pits and eye-stripes, as well as the colors and patterns they have.
Boas, it's the sheer strength in them, definetely something you have to admire, as well as the head.. heck, everything! I love boids!

Re: Prettiest thing about snakes...
I've had a fascination for for all things reptilian since I was a little boy. As far as snakes are concerned, I find myself attracted to colors, patterns and most of all shapes. For some reason I find myself drawn to the taller (from belly to shoulder) more rectangular look. My first love in snakes was the black rat snake. I really like how that flat belly makes a hard right angle where it meets the sides.
In boa constrictors the suri/guyana look and shape is the most attractive to me. I also love the classic connected pattern of bcc and their lower than average saddle count.
