Ebay
Ebay apparently raised its fees recently and I have had several vendors I've spoken with propose an 'off Ebay' sale to circumvent the fees.
To me, that's wrong. There are so many buyers and sellers that find each other through Ebay, and each comes out ahead- the seller makes a bit of profit and the buyer finds something he or she wants. It almost seems like theft to take away the fee Ebay asks so that the buyer and seller can make a deal.
I just don't like when people ask me to do that, and I don't do it. Am I being too conventional by sticking to their rules like that? What do you think?

Re: Ebay
Rules are set in place for a reason. If they find out about the off ebay selling both buyer and seller could get kicked off or fined. That wouldn't be good either persons. I agree with you!

I do not think that just because a company gets profit it is ok to shortchange them. To me, that is like saying that because you buy groceries at a store, it is ok for the kids to eat and not pay for candy or grapes or stuff while you are shopping.
Just my two cents.

Re: Ebay
Its only right for them to up their fees. Everything is going up along with the rising gas prices. ....Except my pay! But, its Ebay, either use ebay and pay the fees or don't. If you try and get around it, your not any better than people that download music for free!

Re: Ebay
Lucille is right.. if you make an agreement you should abide by it. E-Bay can do what it wants, don't like it?.. go somewhere else.
.
I distrust people who cheat their employers, insurance or even the taxman.. Once someone decides they can steal or cheat (for whatever rationalization) then they're cheats and theives.. if you think you won't be the next target you're kidding yourself.
.
Have fun.

It is one thing to raise the price on some stuff.
But come on E-bay is mostly done online, No driving, no nothing, just an office some place, why make them rich?
If they want to give away song for free Then Heck I'm in with it.
