Oh yea, she's undoubtedly a hypocrite. I just see this as a case of the kid trying to get back at the mom, rather than having some sort of noble ideal of helping her better herself.

So? Don't give your kids ammo. Or at the very least, hide it better.

Re: Epic tattletale
My parents smoked pot and I turned out fine. IE- About to graduate from UF and never been in any trouble my whole life/never touched the stuff either. My best friend is the same way, and her parents blatently grew it in front of her. Point - IMO, I dont think mom was doing anything wrong. What an a-hole kid though.

Kinda tough threatening your kid with military school for skipping class when you are breaking a federal law. I think it's funny.

Re: Epic tattletale
Eh, she is a Mother; A parent. Every parent is a hypocrit when they tell you not to do something. Think about it for a minute.
A parent has every right to tell you what you can or can not do dispite what they themselves do. If the kid is not in any danger, woopti do what she does with her personal time. It may be illegal, fine, two points for that, but I'd put a boot in my kids butt if he failed to listen. Parenting is a debate, it's I tell you what to do and you listen. Don't like it, turn 18 and move. Until then, sucks to be you. If what I do does not put you in harms way, get over it. Ive seen more families torn just by alcohol..
I understand the legal aspect of it, but I'd toss the kid into military school just for that, let alone not minding his parents.
And to follow all of what's been said, odds are your parents had their personal uses..

Kid is not obeying his parents. Can't get them to listen, give them to somebody that will make them. These days, we can't so anything about kids. School educates the person. I think she had a pretty well plan when she wanted her kid to go to class..
What she does/do/did doesn't matter in this aspect. Two very different levels.

Re: Epic tattletale
If you don't respect the authorities, what makes you think your kids will? Especially if you outright let them know that you don't care about the law? It's not like she was some parent who toked up on a doob every once in a while, she was growing her own. I'm sure my mom had her transgressions (maybe I'm not so sure), but we didn't have family night around the gravity bong!
