Getting rid of attitude.

Re: Getting rid of attitude.

I'll own up to the fact that I have. We got an adult beardie from a pet store about 2 years ago, sweet as can be. We could hand feed it crickets, let it ride around on our shoulders, just a doll. Then one day, out of the clear blue sky, I was messing around in his cage and he bearded up at me and rushed me. From then on he was the nastiest lizard I've ever encountered. Tail whipping, biting, nastiness. To this day I'm not sure what happened, some people I've talked to think he might've hit sexual maturity, other than than I can't imagine what it was. At any rate we ended up taking him back to the same store we got him from after a while, because he was just impossible to get near. Think of the nastiest monitor you've ever seen but in the shape of a beardie, and that was him. I still feel a bit guilty when I think about it but we just weren't in a place where we could deal with him. He did go on to get adopted by a breeder, so at least he's living a happy life as a stud. I hope that doesn't make me a horrible person. *cringe*

Re: Getting rid of attitude.

I had a boa bite my girlfriend when I was 18-19 and I gave it up. Now that I am no longer young and immature, I take in the mean ones. Giving up that boa was the biggest mistake of my life and I will never do it again.
