Cell phone providers - recommendations

I might be getting a cellphone at some point in the next few months, so I've been trying to figure out who I'll be going with. I know that I'll definatly not be going with Verizon (once a company does something to peeve me, I boycott them. Verizon built an amphitheatre in San Antonio with horrible acoustics with MEAN secutiry. Peeved me because it was the only place for big concerts without driving 5 hours, and they built it over this BEAUTIFUL outdoor area where they'd held concerts previously).

My dad got royally screwed by a company up here, but I can't remember which one. Useful, eh?

And I just want a phone I can hear people on. I don't care about games, cameras, text messages, blah blah blah. The fewer features I have, the less that can go wrong. Hehe. That's how I buy phones and cars.

There might still be hope. I called Verizon last night, thought I'd give it one more shot. Well, I lucked out and got the best customer service person I've ever talked to there. It took some time to explain the whole situation to her, but in the end I got everything I had before, feature wise, PLUS 1000 mobile to mobile minutes every month, unlimited nights and weekends (up from 3000 minutes) plus a $138 credit for all the crap I've been through and things they did wrong, all for $4.99 a month more than I was paying before.

So I guess I'm gonna stick it out with them for another 12 months...

i had altell..they are pretty good..i have unlimited local service for 69.00 a month..but i dont know about the plans where you are..but ive been satisfied with them so..no problems here [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]
