What the Crunk?? I do agree that something needs to be done to protect native species, but like must issues overeaction is what will happen, not a reasonable, realistic solution.

Re: Everglade Burms News Report
Old news here in Fla My boss has been catching burms in the everglades since the 90's. Its just now been brought to light by the media (especially so because of that dumb picture) so now people are having conniption-fits about it. Something already has been done (an awesome new law that began Jan 1 of this year), but I doubt anything worse will come of it.

Re: Everglade Burms News Report
Old news everywhere. But new news reports in conjunction with the USGS "report" and the USFW "RFI" spell bad news

That is a fairly naive perspective given the overall situation and the forces aligning against us.

I didn't visit their site to see where the link goes for people that want to get rid of their burm. Can I assume from your response that you did check and it's not to a decent rescue?

Well, don't you think that's better than letting them out in the wild only to destroy the ecosystem and eventually get caught and euthanized?
It's a sad situation all around, and the only thing to blame are the ignorant people who buy them without knowing how large they'll get....
One of the reasons I'm not very fond of people.
