If you have had them for 5+ years them they ARE FAMILY. I could never do it

I agree with you on this except... Section 3. I have 28 or 29 snakes...one died and it has thrown off my count, lol... It takes awhile to change water, clean cages, give each snake some proper hold time, etc... so IMO, it does take time invested that I could be spending with my kids...

If that snake is 7', the ball in the same picture is MASSIVE, or the argentine is horrendously underweight.

As far as why they should not be housed together... Very different housing needs as far as humidity, and heat. The argentine is going to get WAY bigger and you run the risk of the ball being crushed.

being with another snake, especially of a different species, can stress a snake to the point that it stops eating, it's immune system is compromised, and if one happens to catch something(since you can bring pathogens in on your clothes, breath, hands, etc) the other will get it too, and you run the risk of losing both.

I work at the zoo. I own 30 snakes, 3 lizards, and dart frogs.

And heck, I don't even consider myself an expert yet. I do however know that when you ask someone to be educated in an animal you're throwing away, you should at least be educated in them as well. Improper husbandry is not a sign of someone who cares about their animals enough to learn about them.
