scale count?
ive always read about it and how it distinguishes 2 species that look alike. my question is, which scale rows do you count? the belly scales? the reason i am asking is because i want to see if my rainbow boa is in fact a peruvian, or a brazilian.

You count the belly scales, the subcaudel scales, and the mid body scales.

Wait til your snake sheds, then fold the shed in half where the snout touches the vent. NOT snout to tail. Then you count across the body at the point where you folded it.
