The price of --- is getting ridiculous

Inflation, and rising prices due to oil price increases, is here.
I went to the grocery store today and prices on many things are noticeably higher, even if they do not directly have anything to do with petroleum.

I forecast changes in buying behavior for some. I changed mine, a little, today. I had always heard about feeding raw food to dogs but for a number of reasons never really gotten into it much, although the dogs were always happy at the occasional raw treat.
Now for some reason there seems to be a rise here locally in the cost of some of the good dog foods, to the point where it costs maybe $40-$50/bag for good quality food.(Not the kinds you buy in the grocery store). So, I bought a bunch of chicken for them, and I'll see how that goes.
While I was in the store, I noticed rising prices for eggs, steak, fresh juices and oddly enough, soda.

And the gas pump? Don't even go there.

I've noticed everything getting very expensive lately. Milk is one of them (I don't drink it, though). Every time I go to the grocery store to pick up a few things, I've been noticing a slightly higher bill.
This may be a stupid question, but does this have anything to do with falling value of the dollar?

anyway, as for gas prices, I think everyone is noticing that, ha. I am cutting down on driving other than school and work because I just flat-out can't afford it. It's insane. prices are up to like #3.40/gal here, I'm lucky if I find it for $3.30.

Diesel fuel is over $4.00, do you think trucking companies are just going to eat that? Nope their rates go up, so every business that uses delivery trucks has to hike up their prices.

gas prices for regular here are $3.40... thank goodness I'm on spring break so I don't have to drive anywhere, it'll save me some money from driving the o'l truck around.

prices going up are probably why FedEx raised their shipping rates a bit as well...

The bad thing is if the gas prices go down the food prices will stay the same.

Regular gas was $3.99 in Santa Monica when I drove to class this morning. Here in downtown L.A. it's $3.60.

I have yet to guy groceries. I get paid tomorrow, so we'll see then.
