I had just left my friend's house telling her to try not to go anywhere because people are driving like manics, when all of the sudden BOOM I was broadsided by a drunk driver running a red light. Of course I just bought my car three months ago, but at least I'm able to sit hear and remind all of you to be CAREFUL out there. I think people forget how to drive around the holidays. As they carting him off to the hospital and were asking me if I needed to go too all I could think about is I can't I have a bunch of rats in the back of my car, needless to say after I got home and put them in the freezer I went and got checked out I do however have a lovely new piece of neck ware he he. Again watch out for yourselfs and have a great holiday.

A toast to you, wsacbass, for survival. You never really know who's out there in the other cars, and we all have to put some trust into our fellow drivers. You are one of the lucky ones, unfortunately...I don't mean that in a bad way...it is unfortunate that too many people die on the roads because of drinking and driving. My best friend was driving through her hometown last Christmas, and saw her husband coming from the other direction. He worked out of town, so with it being christmas eve, he was going to surprise her and come home earlier than she expected. As the light turned green, she saw her husband start to go through the intersection---he was waving to her--all of a sudden, a drunk driver ran the light and broadsided him, killing him instantly. It would be hard enough to lose a loved one---it's a whole different story to actually witness it happen.
Again, PLEASE, everyone beware of others, and don't become a statistic. And it should go without saying, don't drink and drive. There are many children out there that are looking out their windows waiting for mom or dad or relatives to pull up in thier driveway this christmas. Let them arrive.

Glad to hear you are ok wsacbass, just decorate the neckbrace and you will be all festive again. Sorry, in cases of loss or stress I crack jokes. Seriously, glad you are ok....and to everyone else, yes it may be embarrassing to call a friend for a ride home at 4 am or call a cab and waste "good" money, but you are still alive and better yet, you do not have to live with someone elses life on your consience. Have a safe and happy holiday fellow snake and herp lovers....I hope all of your stockings have knots like mine does.

A big part of my job is accident investigation. I have seen accidents that would turn the average persons stomach. You cannot imagine what a two ton vehicle can do to your body. Please think EVERYTIME you get in the car. You truely are driving a weapon. Defensive driving will save your life.
I am just putting a "I second that notion" to this post.
Have a happy, safe holdiay season

Nice disclaimer there dlamphere, don't offend any of us....hehe. EVERYONE makes a fool of themselves when they drink too much, some are just more obvious fools. Some of us prefer to make fools of ourselves in private is all.

Glad noone was badly hurt...wrecks suck.
bean....you can avoid the cookie dump by leaving one acct on rtb.net and log the other onto rtb.org...it works for me...will work for you Once both accts are logged in, you will have seperate cookie files so all you have to do is change net to org and your acct will pop up....Merry Christmas

I know exactly what you mean here. I have even seen/been on site as part of the EMS team for some pretty gut wrenching wrecks. On occasion we have had to even "help" one of our own off the ground after they went down from what was seen...UGH.
The worst part about drunk driving IMo is that if anyone gets hurt big time/ or a death is involved.. it is usually not the drunk driver that it happens to.. So yes, we do all have to place a high degree of "trust' in other drivers on the roads with us.
