An interesting thing about tattoos that are done in areas with thin skin/tissue is that the pain isn't really any greater...It's just the sensation of feeling vibrations in your bones that makes it seem weird.

When I got my chest piece done the sternum area drove me batty.

none of mine hurt except the foot.. and it wasnt enough to make me pass out or cry or anything, but man it hurt. (and yeah, it wasnt enough to stop me from getting something on the other foot!)

Time to really think a tattoo through is always a good thing.

I have a couple of impulse tattoos, and honestly, had I actually thought them through I probably wouldn't have gotten them. That's not to say I don't love them, but the space probably could have been put to better use.

If the shop allows it, make sure you have someone there to take pictures while you're getting it done. People make some pretty great faces while they're getting tattooed.

has anyone ever seen a tattoo like right behind the ear? i was thinking a small lizard or snake back there. i thought it would be a cool place, never seen one though. pretty easy to show and easy to cover, if needed
