i dont know if anyones seen this but to me its a horrible set up to show up with a basket and a monocle(sp??) cobra. And everyones buddies Jack Hannah and ol' Bob are on there

im sure that cobra had its fangs removed...as a matter of fact ALOT of cobras u will see being harrased by those flute weilding pr*cks are defanged...i watched a show on gypsy's once and it showed them doing it...its actualy really sad...most gypsy's are deathly afraid of cobras...until they rip the teeth out...then they get tourists to pay em cause the we dont know that the snake is completetly harmless

a defanged snake can still envenomate you. removing the venom gland/severing the duct is the only way to render them incapable of envenomation.

a lot of "charmers" resort to sewing the mouth shut and letting the snake die off later. defanging is known as unreliable even with them. still though, there are many who are dealing with a hot snake and simply have experience with their disposition. even in the wild, cobras, when hooded, will follow a well placed hand for an extended period of time. that's one of the tricks they use in photography and videography to get the best shots and "control" the animal.
