By appearance that salvator is over weight but how unhealthy it is remains to be discussed. I recently brought this up to some other reptile keepers and it was suggested that there is; emaciated, obese and then a ton of gray area in between.
I think the monitor should trim up some now that it has more cage to move around in, and things to climb on. My big guy has major guns from doing "pull ups" in his cage.  Also I feed large meals less frequently unlike many keepers, this means if you take pictures before a feeding my monitor looks much more trim; after he has a full belly he looks like a porker.
