Very Sad
Well the day has come and gone. My landlord made me get rid of my puppy. Saranac was a 6 month old Black Lab with a bit of an excitement issue. One day while i was at work she kicked out her kennel bottom and chewed the carpet. At first my landlord had no issue with her but after that she decided to make me get rid of her. I didnt think it would be this hard. 2 days have gone by and the only thing keeping me together is the memories. Ive never had to get rid of something ive loved so much. Its almost like a bad dream. Like yesterday never happened, but everytime I walk by her room, its just cold and empty. No happy puppy dance to greet me when I come home. No more unexpected lap jumping. Its almost surreal. Did it really happen? Sometimes its just easier to let your emotions go to people who will listen and have no face. Thanks for reading.

Re: Very Sad
Sorry!
If I have a door closed that my cats want open, they chew and claw at the carpet until the wood underneath shows. I have huge holes in the carpet in front of both of my bedroom doors.
I paid a pet deposit though, so that should cover the damages.
Did you not pay a pet deposit?

Re: Very Sad
no it was pretty much a house lease. And now i have to pay for the repairs to the carpet. Dont blame my landlord though, shes just protecting her house.

Re: Very Sad
You know, a little money for obedience training would have probably allowed you to keep your puppy.

Re: Very Sad
Probably not soon enough. I'm sure that if you had told your landlady that he was going into obedience training in the next few days, she would have let him stay.
Sorry, dude. This stuff sucks so hard. Having to get rid of a beloved pet is REALLY a sad thing to go through. I've been there.

My kitten does the same thing. Can't help your pets...if the land lord allowed it - she would have known of the possible damages.
