Two snakes, questions.

1) Cody saw a picture of a "Dice Snake" or somesuch and fell in love and said he wanted one. I told him that I'd never heard of it being in captivity, so I doubted it'd be a good pet. What is this snake? I can't even find any good info on it.

2) Massasaghua? Rattler. (Mass-A-sag-WAH) Apparenty, this is the only native venomous snake in Michigan (we have another, Cottonmouth or somesuch, but it was introduced). I'd never heard of it until I moved up here, and half the poeple I ask about them can't even pronounce the name. Again, what is it?

	Cottonmouth Cottonmouth (Agkistrodon piscivorus) - Also known as a Water Moccasin.

1.) Natrix tessellata. I'm currently unaware of any captive specimens outside of European collections.

2.) The massasauga rattlesnake is a species of pygmy rattlesnake. The eastern massasauga is the nominate subspecies, and is found in MI. Outside of zoo collections, you'll find very few massasaugas in captivity. Although they do well in captivity, they are protected throughout their range.
