I must have misread. It sounded like you were saying that it was a "lesser offense" for those other animals to be treated and skinned like these dogs and cats were.

I just want to throw out here, those people need to eat also. Many people rely on hides, logging and hunting for income and food. I wish there was an easy way to solve this, but there isn't. I think more humane ways would be nice; and populations and ecological damage should be taken into consideration, but I am certain that is just wishful thinking.

Yeah I don't disagree. I'm not one to tell people they can't eat dogs or cats. I eat cows and chickens after all. I couldn't eat a dog, but they were not raised like me and I was not raised like them. At the core I'm no better than them for not eating dog.

But changes need to be made, not just for dogs and cats, but the whole industry must change all over the world. Make humane treatment and killing of animals that we make use of mandatory. Reptiles are victims of this industry too, so it affects EVERYONE who loves animals.

Well said Stalk. I wish the animals were all farmed and humanely killed, rather than plucked from the wild, but look how long it has taken the USA to change, why should we think 3rd world countries would protect animal rights in the blink of an eye?
