Not bad day (BAD WEEK)
so I know I havent up dated since I posted the vent the other day so here goes. I woke up that morning my other african Gray Zero was not looking good. After a run to the vet they could find nothing wrong with him, and they decided to keep him for observation...BUT ZERO DID NOT MAKE IT.......Vet did not charge me for the visit or anything and he is doing a necropsy for nothing....But he seems to think Zero died of a Broken heart from missing ziggy........They have lived in the same cage for the last 7 tears..so he said it was the same as if they were a bonded pair only males.they were best of buds. I cannot explain the heartbreak I feel from losing them...The kids had a half day that day and oldest had to go for updated visit for his meds.they are not working the way they should and causing conflicts with his schooling....the kids were Awful in the docs office and worse in the grocery store......Gosh don't try and correct your kid anymore...especially in public..Now i do not mean beat or abusing I mean telling my son...your 11 years old, you know the way you are acting is not acceptable and you know the consequences if you continue..(mommy niceness).lol.....when he got home, he lost video game privileges and phone privileges....But some woman in the store said to me.....I do not like that tone in your voice when you spoke to your son....I said excuse me BUT DON'T LISTEN THEN!..UGHHHHHHH it's just made me furious and to top it off another lady asked her if she had children and she said NO!.......The Nerve......just seems liek the last week has just been off the hook! IT HAS GOT TO GET BETTER!

Re: Not bad day (BAD WEEK)
I am so sorry to hear about Zero. Unfortunately nothing I say can really make things better, only time can do that.
Kids can really be a handful. Lucky for you, my generation is bringing back spanking. I don't have kids yet, but when I do, bad behavior = spankings. I'm not talking about beating them down or any other kind of abuse, I'm talking about spanking. People my age, we were spanked when we were kids and we all turned out fine. What's so different about kids now that you can't spank them or talk to them in an authoritative tone. Like new generation genetics have mutated all of a sudden to be over sensitive, and to have a "scarred for life" response to any form of discipline. You don't see anyone my age in a mental institution with severe paranoia or thoughts of suicide because they were spanked... You see these kinds of things when people are abused, or raped. That's like saying "You're allergic to grapes? Oh, well then don't eat potatos either". It just doesn't make sense. In conclusion, I don't care what people say. I say mind your own business.
.
Sorry for the vent...but I can't stand it when people have that "don't hurt your child's feelings when they're acting like little tyrants" attitude....especially comming from people who have no business even making those comments.....like the lady at the store you were at.
.
I really hope your week gets better. Mine hasn't been all that great either.....I think its just "crappy week" week.

Re: Not bad day (BAD WEEK)
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. That sounds really strange. I hope your days get better soon. I feel for ya.
Oh man, I don't own kids...buuut, I've worked with Emotionally Disturned kids for years. If there's one thing that screws up kids the most is not setting firm boundaries. If i did have kids, and if that lady said the same thing to me she said to you. Oh man, I would be so angry! I probably wouldn't know what to say in the moment but would have thought of many great things to say in my head for days to come. That's so rediculus

Re: Not bad day (BAD WEEK)
sorry to hear about Zero, at least now he gets to go see his Buddy again
as for kids, i am not for beating em, but a good firm smack is a good thing IMO, i am 17 and still can say that alot of kids my age would be better people if they werent spoiled rotten, i know it myself, if you dont get the occasional smack then you get this idea in your mind that you can do whatever and nothing will happen to you

Re: Not bad day (BAD WEEK)
Thank you Both..it has helped me to get some of it out even if I was only typing.......Yea this lady Just had no clue....My 11 year old suffers from ADHD and Bipolar.he is only on meds to get him through the school day, weekends and holidays he gets med breaks as the medication he was on was addictive and the doc said any break is good so his body is not adjusting to the dosage and it needing to be upped....But he was getting severe headaches and they switched it......he is on something new and its only been a few days .he has no complained about any side effects so i'm hoping he will be ok....Now please dont misjudge me I fought for years with myself and the family and such about putting him on the meds..Its was more beneficial for his schooling then not to do it....he was not learning due to the mood swings and the inablility to focus and sit still to learn.....so anyway thats my soap box dileama......
As for my pets......Ziggy and Zero are sadly missed.....Nothing I can do to change the outcome..they were destined to be together after all i guess.....And yes I plan on having them stuffed and placed on the same swinging perch together...I know someone said it sounded creepy to them. But to me it's no diff then having someone cremated and having their ashes in the house or at least in my opinion....Ondce again I can not thank someone of you enough for being there for me when I need to vent........LOL....maybe I am the insane one..HAHAHA
