Vegetarians?
Hi guys,
I just was wondering of any of you happen to be vegetarians (or vegans)
I know this probably is not very common on this site, but come on, there's got to be a few!
please, please, please, do not post about how much you like meat and how vegtarians are stupid, etc, I'm just curious. also, dont take this as a "I'm vegetarian, I'm better than you" thing, becuase I know I'm not any better than anyone else. also, I could care less if your diet includes meat, it doesnt change how I feel about it.
again, just simple curiosity. =]

Re: Vegetarians?
NICE!
I decided to go vegetarian not too long ago... It's going to be about 6mo. soon. I know it's not very long, but you have to start somewhere!

Re: Vegetarians?
This will probably not go over well on this forum...oh well
it's amazing to think of all the energy that goes into creating a slab of meat. From growing and producing the food for the cows, raising the cows, sooo much water. Considering the caloric output from a slab of steak (albeit delicious), it's rediculus to think how much water and energy we could save if everyone went vegie, plus, those poor listless animals. Oh and this will stir it up. I've read several, fairly credible sources say that cow farts make up as much as 25% of the methane gasses in the air. Might be a global warming factor...and still I can't get off the meat. It's worse than cigarettes!

Re: Vegetarians?
it is crazy how off balance meat production is from just about every other type of food production.
But, it takes people caring enough to actually want to make choices in their lives that will lessen their impact on the planet.
(and a pretty unpopular opinion, and im not ragging on anyone) but most people are too selfish to even think about changing the way they live their life if it means having to think more about the consequences of what simple choices mean for the rest of the world.
there is nothing wrong with eating meat, but the way its done now (as opposed to the small family farms of older times) is very destructive.
its not the answer to "climate change" but it isn't going to hurt anything to lessen one's meat intake.
you'd be amazed at how much better you feel.
