So here in Southern Oregon we have no herp society but yours truly would like to fix that huge error.
My first question being...Is there anyone who I have to talk to to get approval for such a thing? I really wouldn't even be able to fathom a guess as to whom, Besides Fish And Game or Animal Control. Next does anyone know anyone who's done this that could give me some pointers? I want it to be fun, educational and of course successful.
Next considering that I'm not rich and couldn't really pay for a meeting hall would my living room (as long as the house was nice and presentable of course) with some nice snacks and beverages work as a meeting place to hold the monthly meetings? Any other ideas? Input? Random mutterings?
Please ohh please..help lol

I was born and raised in Klamath Falls, so I think it's a really great idea to do that since there was nothing like that when I was growing up. You might want to start advertising at pet stores, the paper, radio, I dunno...good luck

I know that theres LOTS of herp people here. I was thinking monthly meetings perhaps when it gets more popular twice a month, but monthly would be ideal. I just dont know if theres an agency that I need to ask first and dont even know the first step finding that information lol. But I guess thats what the great internet is for ^.^

you might want to talk to folks at the Northern California Herp Society. They're out of Sac, but might give some advise. Northern California Herpetological Society

We have a herp society here, but it's hard to find the contact people. They don't seem to have phone or email contacts. It's like some sort of secret society. I was thinking about posting on Craig's list for snake lovers.

Look up Oregon herp society and nwhks. Oregon herp is out of corvalis and nwhks is out of portland. Maybe they could give you some ideas or even refer people that are to far to make it to thier meetings to your meetings. You do much field herping down thier? You guys have it great zonata and cali kings are awesome.
