Exclamation Why Succh Names People????

Im not going to lie, 2 of my snakes have the most ridiculous names....

Eric and Angus... seriously, who calls a snake Angus

Why you ask...because they are named after the all famous 'eric clapton' and 'angus young' (ok so maybe that one isnt so famous but i am an AC/DC fan so ehh whatever!) i know some of the older herpers know who im talking about...

Does anyone else have a story behind the names of there animals or a reason for them being called what they are....(im not going to lie, if i were a snake and my owner called me angus, i wouldnt like me either...)

Re: Why Succh Names People????

Lisa (after an ex who HIGHLY deserved to have a snake named after her)
Cheech (the goatee looking patterning on the boa's face reminded me of him)
Ziggy (he is just really high energy)
Domino (aggressive and prone to bite...like in the movie)

Re: Why Succh Names People????

Well, there's Mr.Luna, who we thought was a girl, and my little brother named, before we found out Luna was a male.

Then Medusa and Satan, the JCP's, who because of their color we named after evil characters.

Then Fei Fei, the dwarf redtail, named after Faye in the Cowboy Bebop series.

And Dexter, my new children's python... I named him that because it just "fit" not exactly FROM anything. His eyes just scream "Dorky Dexter" so that's his name.

Then there's Biaja, who was named by popular demand with help from everyone on this site.

Rinne, named after rebirth in buddhism.

Nathan and Vanessa, named after characters in Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Nathan Scott Phillips was named after the giant (Conda? Retic? Burm? They never said.) snake Meatwad gets and turns into a "bunny" by use of staples and pipe cleaners, and Vanessa, one of Meatwad's dolls. I think Vanessa was the paper towel tube.

Then Nip and Tuck, my gophers, which should be obvious enough where their names came from... Named on a whim. Someone suggested it jokingly and I thought it was a great idea. So it stuck.

And lastly(so far) is Cinder, my RLL. So named because he's burnt to a crisp. (he's a rescue).

It's an old one (we won't discuss my age when it was released), sometime in the early 80's i think.

We have well over 100 snakes, each with their own name. Each name has a reason. It would just take me too long to type them all.
