Africa is not for sissys DUW
Please not get this wrong this is not were I live ( I live in a city) this is on My hubbys famely's farm in the bundus, Its part of a natuur reserve.

Africa is on my travel agenda some day, Ekke, especially since I have a close friend from there, and my great grandfather is from South Africa. You are very fortunately to live in such a beautiful place.

John-- Yeah its the same tipe of habitat. We have puff adders and mambas and you have rattlers ect.

I nearly forgot to add those elephants are in the Limpopo river (check a map)so the trees behind them is Botswana (like in a different country) so imigration laws are not as strict as they can be. You walk through the "Great Grey greasy Limpopo" quote: Kipling and you are in a new country.

Ekke these are beautiful. I long to go some place just like that, somewhere large and wide and peaceful. (Not Heaven - definitely not yet.) Jamaica still has a lot of natural beauty but you can almost hear it crying "look well and remember me, I am not long to stay."

As a child I read "Kim" and "The Jungle Book" and some other stuff by RK.

Its great and if you converd $ to Rand (our currency ZAR) its something like R7.50 To $1 so it works out reletively cheap. We buy basically the same as you would just in rands eg. Ball python (baby) will cost R1000 you can do the maths.

My stepmother works for a doctor's office and recently, one of the senior doctors retired and opened a guided tour/hunt somewhere in africa. It was his lifelong dream. I may actually get to go down and spend some time "working" which means I'll be lost out in the wilderness in no time.

Can't wait.
