Baby snake
I just found this snake in my driveway when I was working on my car. Anyone know what kind it is?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Baby snake
That's a juvenile mole king.
The easiest way to tell the difference in a juvenile mole king and black racer is to look at the scale above the eye. Black racers have more of a ridge than the mole kings, and mole kings have what appear to be a smaller head/no neck which helps them "swim" under mulch, etc.
It's also illegal to kill or keep any native nonvenomous snake in GA.

Re: Baby snake
You can't keep anything in GA! Reason one why I didn't move there.

Re: Baby snake
My wife found another one by our front door. I just picked it up and took it to the woods and let it go...... no pics this time, batteries in the camera were dead.
