Anyone tried Eco Earth?
It is supposedly a good humidity holder I am thinking of trying in my new Tiger Rat enclosure.
If you've used it what kind of area will one brick cover how deep?

Re: Anyone tried Eco Earth?
The EcoEarth is a great substrate, I use it for my box turtle. One brick expands dramatically... I would say it covers at least a 5-6 square foot area at least 1 inch deep or so, I'm guessing.

Re: Anyone tried Eco Earth?
Awesome!!! Thank you.
I’ll give it a try then.
I sterilize real soil for my young & baby Boxies which I keep in the house. The adults are in a 48ft X 42ft outdoor pen year round.

Re: Anyone tried Eco Earth?
how big is the brick? there's 2 or 3 sizes. i've used the small 1 pounder and it is enough to cover my 55 gallon tank floor, but it's not very deep. i love that stuff, it works really well.

Re: Anyone tried Eco Earth?
I just saw the dimensions but already closed that window I remember it is 2 inches thick and 4 incjes wide but don't remember the length for sure, I think it was 7 inches.
I'm looking at a three pack and the shipping weight is 5 lbs if that helps. It says it makes 7 – 8 liters of substrate but I can't picture that in area covered how deep.

Re: Anyone tried Eco Earth?
When you get it soak one brick at a time, and hot water helps it absorb the water faster.

Re: Anyone tried Eco Earth?
I love the stuff, I use it for my Kingsnake. One brick makes ALOT of substrate, I think 6qts or so. I fully dry mine out so the coverage might be a little different.
