Is there a place on this site to post our snakes cage? I am drawing a plan myself but would like the ideas of others who have done it themselfs or had someone do it for them. I am kinda at a loss. How big does a cage need to be for two full grown redtail boas?

You can post and check posts in Caging / Housing for reptiles. Good luck designing it. Others should be along to tell you big it should be, even though you should not house them together....

It can cause stress in the animals. Snakes, by nature, are solitary creatures. Stress can bring on problems like loss of appetite and susceptability to illness. When feeding, you will have to feed separately and rinse each one off before returning to the enclosure. If there is any smell of prey on the snakes, they might bite each other. If one gets sick, it can pass the illness to the other. It will be hard to keep track of who deficated. If you ever have to check a fecal sample, you won't know which snake has the problem, and both snakes will have to be treated...you see? There are many reasons to house separately.

One reason.....
I know this was a while ago, but there is definitely something to be learned from this unfortunate incident.

Oh my.... Poor Lori. I dont have the male yet, but when I do they will be housed apart! Now does this go for corn snakes as well? I have 3 corns all about the same age. One is a little smaller then t he other two. I am taking him out this morning. What about the other two. I understand about them getting sick. Right now I have one of my corns by himself. The other 2 are together. They are all babies. I was told if you get them at the same size and age it didnt much matter but to be aware when they act funny... sick... to sep them then. Now thinking about it doesnt make much since. Gee. I have so much to learn!

It applies to ALL snakes, for the reasons LdyDrgn cited.
To make it worse, many colubrids have cannibilistic tendencies, cornsnakes are one.

I had a few baby boas housed toghter and had a ton of problems. one got sick to the point that I almost lost him. I have since built new cages and sperated every body. all the boas that were having problems are healthy and doing fine. I belive that the problems came from sharing a home.

Okay guys. I have everyeveryone in different cages. Everyone seems very happy my female corn was laying in the water when I got home after dinner she left me a prize. Id like to think its her way of saying thank you for giving me by room. I put the smallest corn in a smaller shannon made cage! Its working very well, at least till I get another 10 gal. I have one for my older baby male corn, I got it at a yard sale last weekend, I had to completely clean it. I need to get a top for it then he can move in. Thanks again guys! That was a really dumb move on my part.
