People Who Don't like to be corrected
I was reading a forum post to when as per usual I saw this comment "Yes. Some -are- poisonous. Most are kept in the basement with the right temperature, food, etc."
So I'm one of those people if i see an incorrect term I correct it so my response:
"Uhm for someone who owns snakes you should know it's venomous not poisonous there is no such thing as a poisonous snake."
Now you think that would be the end of that, there really isn't anything to argue there. How naive I am...
The girl replied
"-.- Excuse -me- for using another word for it. Venom is a type of poison. Same thing, dear."
WTH why can't people simply accept that they used the WRONG word. I posted 2 links on the difference between venom and poison. To which someone else jumps on me since the rant was about the girls cat knocking over one of her snakes cages.
Why does it matter what the thread was about? All i did was mention that there is no such thing as a poisonous snake. When since is it a crime to correct someone using the wrong term?

I have made that same mistake... Both correcting people and the poisonous vs. venomous thing. And I feel stupid for saying that they were poisonous.
And X is totally right. Some people just can't be corrected. And sometimes, they are just newbies. Hots are out of quite a few people's league.
I am sorry for your frustration, and I feel your pain.

Re: People Who Don't like to be corrected
Someone who is actually keeping hot snakes should be ESPECIALLY the people to never call a snake poisonous and she has SEVERAL. Also why in gods name is your set-up so badly put up that a cat is not only around your snakes (seeing how crazy she claims said cat to be) but is knocking your stands over?

Stick to your guns! for every uptight, unteachable person, there will be others who read the thread and learn something from it. You may not ever hear from them, but it can and will make a difference.
