Now I know they have to send packages to sorting centers etc.... but this is the route my package from Microsoft took through UPS.....

You have what looks like Interstates highlighted. It goes East over to Florida on Interstate 10 then up 75 til it hits Lexington KY, then west on 64 to Louisville. Louisville is UPS's Hub. There is also a large distribution center in Omaha, which it went through. Out of Omaha there is a daily parade, miles long of UPS trucks on Interstate 80. They have an airport in Louisville that is larger than most major Cities. It's HUGE. It dwarfs the public airport and Air Force Reserve base combined. My guess is even though you paid for ground, your package spent a considerable amount of time on a plane, thus, it's trip to Louisville.

I could be wrong, just an educated guess.

It was all done in 3 days.....It had scans in San Antonio, Dallas, Orlando, Louisville, Salt Lake City, and then two local small cities.

So they would have to drive it to Dallas on day 1, on a plane to Orlando still on day 1, then flew it to Louisville day 2, and on to SLC on day 2, then driven to me on day 3.

That's still crazy...chart some flights from Dallas to Louisville, I'm sure there are more packages than just mine going to the West.

Dallas, Orlando, and Salt Lake City are all hubs of Delta. Maybe a coincidence? I dunno. Just a theory.

Looking at the mileage alone, i can tell you that that entire trip wasn't done in 72 hours.

Interesting, because it was shipped the 13th and arrived the 15th...pretty sure that's 72 hours.

P.S. I'm not denying that they flew it....that's not what I said in my previous post.

I've never been a big fan of UPS. Let's face it, would you trust a shipping company whose initials spell "oops"?
