Well people, I just read an email that disturbed me.....I can't mention everything in the email but this stuck out at me.
<TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font class="pn-sub">Quote:</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT class="pn-sub"><BLOCKQUOTE> </BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE>Guns and knives got through airport. The Transportation Department
Inspector General found airport security screeners on several dozen
occasions failed to catch guns and simulated explosives. According to the
IG's report, screeners missed knives 70 percent of the time, guns 30
percent of the time, and simulated explosives 60 percent of the time. The
security system tests were conducted at 32 airports while screening
checkpoints were still supervised by the airline industry with oversight
by the Federal Aviation Administration.
What do you think of those odds? Have we really done enough to protect ourselves. Talks of biochemical attacks on ATLANTA, (juliu....move)
crashing planes into nuclear power plants in MASSACHUSSETTES.....(lori....move)
I just don't know what to think or do.....

Wow, That is terrifying. I love to fly, but seldom get to anymore (Maybe that's a good thing....) My sister flies alot as does my dad. My dad has the common sense and wherewithall to pay attention to his surroundings and people in his vicinity. He has flown to/worked in 'hot' spots all over the world for years (military man). My sister is the typical bleach blonde (no offensive to blondes anywhere, but she fits the general stereotype) she's happily unaware of everything, bebops through life with few cares in the world (no, she is well educated and 'book smart' but common sense left her years ago). The scary part is, both of them are in the smae amount of danger, no matter what is going on. No matter who you are or where you're going, everytime you step into an airport (even before the Sept 11 thing) you are putting your lives into strangers hands. Scary thought, isn't it? While it does pay to be aware of your surroundings, it still will not protect you from 'them.'
I guess the only thing we all can do is pray, and make sure all our lives are in order. Tell evreyone every day that you love them, you know, all the typical gooshy stuff.
I do not feel we are protecting ourselves enough. I don't think we really can unless we all move into bomb shelters, etc.
Life is really scary out there, you never know who or what is out to get you. Live your life to the fullest and be right with yourself, your family, friends and whichever God you belive. And pray like mad.
It's a sad, sad world, and I feel guilty every day for bringing my babies into it. I hope they have a chance to really enjoy the good things in life.
That's it, you decided me, I'm taking them to the circus Saturday........

People died daily, before sept 11... Sept 11 just got 'broadcast' alot more..
Death is as natural as life..I think the odds of each happening are just about the same..
Death has been looking us in the eyes since the begining, its just now our 'perceptions' have been forced to take notice of it.. Nothings changed but perceptions..
What does this mean? Take the feeling you have, of uncertanty and look it in the 'eyes'.. Dont shy from death, or what can happen in daily life, do the opposite. Im sure the Jews were nicer to each other once they were in the concentration camps, than when they were 'free'.. psychologically hostages bond with each other, and often become like family... meaning if the grocery store hadnt been held up, would they even know these people who are now brothers and sisters to them? So I ask, is the grocery store a tradgedy, or a blessing?
To get biblical like I did on another post... Revelations explains it all. In the end times, the "chit's going to hit the fan", to put it lightly.. To the untrained eye, it's tradgedys, which on an isolated point of view they are... but in the grand scheme of things, have you not become close to someone you know, since sept 11....that you wouldnt have, if it never happened??
Dont get me wrong, I get sick to think of what type of mental torture it was for those people on those planes, and the ones in the building.. A guy who was staying with us, his mother watched people literally jump from the building, and the whole time assumed her brother, this guys uncle, was inside the building... pretty rough. Luckily he wasnt..
So, in knowing this, there is NOTHING we can do for the ones that are lost... "the dead bury their own"... they are gone.. So, lets evaluate, and make a step forward.... We're still here... By God, we still are a piece of this life... SO... if you put this knowledge, regardless of how traumatic to waste, chalk another one up for the "bad guys".... Use it to your advantage...
Contrary to popular beliefe, we cant add an hour to our lives... regardless of what we do. Our days were numbered before we were born.. SO... from this moment, say a quick prayer in thanks to God, that "He" has allowed you to still take part... THEN.. begin to look at the world from the outside in, instead of the inside out... I have a brother, who is who he is....but....he could have been anyone of you..... I dont have any sisters but the "moral" is still the same....
So, start looking at the face you dont know, not as a stranger, but as a brother or sister in this large "thing" called life that is actually taking place... its actually all going on right now as we speak..
Whats done is done, so reagardless of whats what, take a look at what happened, and understand that it could have been your family, literally....not the "it could be you next time" cliche' that gets put all over the place.... your family, on that plane headed on just some nice vacation... and now you're alone, amongst these "strangers"... all alone..
As far as crashing nuclear plants, or whatever else... this world isnt headed in a nice direction, and ultimatly we will kill ourselves and each other....over trivial things like dirt, rock, a few trees etc.... we will literally kill Life.... because of greed SO...
In knowing this, the tradgedys although at first are horrible to have to comprehend, are, I believe, blessings in disguise...( Im sitting here thinking that kind of sounds messed up too)... Until we wake up into the fact that we truly are alive...and that this is not to be taken lightly... things like this will happen... The dead are walking amongst you daily... eating breathing, having children...making decisions that will ultimatly kill you..... So, let this Sept 11 thing convince you....or wait for the next horrible thing to happen... get fed up, start teaching about life.. The longer we wait, the more "tradgedy's" we will see.... When will it happen to you??
Often times when people are on their death beds... looking at the actual end of what they took for granted, they get a "glimpse" at what life is actually all about... because we see more clearly what we dont have, or are about to lose....that what we actually have been blessed to recieve, and "have".... also, its more often than not, that they dont regret what they have done, so much as what they HAVNT done...
Right now, understand these paragraphs as a bullet that has passed through your brain... you are dead now.. actually comprehend that, and think if I just had one more chance, what would I do... fight for the Mercedes, or fight for the LIFE that is needed in order to enjoy the mercedes....
You never know, I may get fed up and come for YOU....
