Who Mountain Bikes? Pics of the latest trip
So who out there Mountain Bikes? XC? Downhill? Free Ride?
I like downhilling a lot, but don't have a downhill bike and don't see the budget allowing it anytime soon. So for now it's just XC for me.
Here's a couple pics from this weekend's excursion with my wife and her bro/cousins. We hit the Bonneville shoreline trail which is super tame, but there were a lot of cutoff trails that I could take off on for some more challenges and fun, including a few jumps that I went back to several times until they got the better of me and I ate it.
Anyway, just curious who out here rides....here's the pics.
Pre-ride with Me, Trevor and Mike (helmet crooked much Mike?)
With Britt overlooking Ogden (This was after the crash, you can see the scrapes on the side of my chin
The Bike (Trek 8000)
Spitting out dirt after crashing
The results of the crash - Not too bad

Re: Who Mountain Bikes? Pics of the latest trip
I don't mountain bike, but Utah looks very nice. I should try to make it out there for a little vacation.

Ooooh NOT FOR ME! I can't do road biking, or running or things along those lines. They tried to get me to do cross country in high school (I'm built for it) but I think I'm too ADD for that, gotta have stuff to mix it up for me, I can't just run to run, or bike on flat roads. I go crazy!

Re: Who Mountain Bikes? Pics of the latest trip
How much does your bike weigh? My ex used to do a lot of mtn biking, and him and his cousin were quite serious about it, had all the mods done to their bikes to make them weigh MUCH less. It made them SOOO much easier to ride. I have been looking into modifying an old Giant I have, just to make it a bit lighter.
I got spoiled, I guess riding his bike

Re: Who Mountain Bikes? Pics of the latest trip
Nice! A downhill bike is somewhere in my future, hopefully not too far into the future...
As for how much it weighs, not sure, but a lot less than my wife's bike!
