I'm hoping that someone can help resolve a beer-induced discussion that I had over the weekend.
Does anyone RELIABLY know of any retics, burms or green annies in captivity that are over 7m ( about 20 ft). I know that Bob Clark has a monster burm, but have read varying accounts of its length.
The gist of the argument was that the big snakes never really get close to the biggest and longest recorded sizes, but my friend argued that someone must own a big snake that is older than 12 years and therefore must be close if not beyond 8m. I said that I had never heard of one.

I could be very mistaken here...... But I thought Bob Clark's "Baby" is a Retic. 27' 410 LBS sounds exacty like the snake I'm thing of, could be mistaken though. -Juggalo

thanks- so there are one or two that exceed 7m. With the proliferation of burm and retic sales in the last 10 years or so I expect that more and more will begin to do the internet rounds.

There are plenty around in zoos and such....saddly, few people actually provide the proper diet these large snakes need to reach full potential growth. So most large pythons in captivity in households usually end up dead or stunted due to neglect.
