lol been there...it has become a semi-debate....mostly me arguing with myself though lol ... If anyone has input it is more than welcome....mostly though I would like to know if the snake has a single or divided anal plate...because that one little thing will clear up any debate as to what the snake is.

I think it's an African Rock Python. I could be wrong, but that is very unlikely.

heh....no....I'll never buy that it's a great basin gopher. I think maybe we are both wrong but figuring it out by ruling out every conceivable possibility. Funny thing is though....I'm starting to cave in to the bullsnake theory even though that is the one pit I first thought it definatly could not be. If indeed it is a pit, it likely has some bullsnake dna....When I first saw the pics...I could see no color fade....but after glaring at it for hours and hours today...all of a sudden...it doesn't look so uniform in color and I can see that typical bull or gopher fade at mid body...the saddle shapes are more consistant with bullsnake though than that of gopher but not quite enough like exactly either...my best guess in the pit dept is gopher x bull...or some kinda bull I have yet to see. I think I've seen all the gophers. Plus I don't wanna be wrong LOL
