Yah that David Blaine guy is pretty cool. Its amazing how good he is with tricks, still wondering how he does the gloating thing...wish I was there so I could run a stick under his feet when he does that.
Did you ever see the SouthPark Episode "Super Best Friends" I think it was called. It was about David Blaine haha. It actually makes fun of him....he tricks the whole town and I think does a cult thing.
Man SouthPark has got crazy. I watched it the other day and there was a episode dedicated to the character Butters....The Butters show was the episode name I think.
Anyway this episode was really messed up, then at the end they really pushed it and totally dogged on some famous people who were accused of killing people. It was pretty harsh...but when I heard it, I couldn't help myself but think...#$%^$%^$%^$%^& its about time someone spoke out.
Anyway SouthPark is a pretty crazy cartoon and most of the time just stupid immature crap...but sometimes the creators write a show to make a point....and sometimes you can't help but agree with it as harsh as they point it out.

I was watching that too.. Its pretty cool to see someone doing what he did on a street.. really non "las vegassy"...
I have this habit, when I see majik shows like that, I like to tape them, and then play them back..and when he gets down to doing his thing I'll play it frame by frame...
The last time that show was on I did it and I figured out alot of his tricks, most are just real quick card flips... pretty basic but comes out to be cool.
What I cant figure out is the quarter tricks... they're insane and I cant find a single slip up in any of it... the floating thing is beyond me too, I got kind of sketchy because they never show his whole body in a single shot... hmmm..
Did you catch the begining of "Testosterone Week" after that? It was on either TLC or Discovery or something.. it was wicked they counted down the 10 "deadliest" forms of martial arts... Get this tho Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was 10!!! no friggin way... BJJ is more effective than a 9 mm pistol.... it was cool regardless, some poor sap got kind of anxious and ended up having his knee cap split... always sux when that happens...
They also had Akido as like number 6 or something... not real rational

Hey JD ...what was number 1? my brother practices martial arts and BJJ is one of them which surprises me that it wasnt in the top 5. Whoever made the show needs to watch some of the original UFC matches. hahahaha

The number 1 was the budhism art...which I cant rememer the name OF.... its the original form of what karate is.... I cant remember the name which is pretty messed up... but its obvious nontheless....
If you know the budhism form of karate you know what was number 1... Id have to say I'd agree with it... It has this "form" of that it can "feel" an attack coming without seeing the actual attack, which Ive seen and have come to know as true....which is wild.... real wild..
I wonder, how has Royce graicy become ignored.... Ultimate Fighting if nothing else has proven that BJJ is the ultimate art.... I saw Royce Gracie, beat Ken Shamrock.. which is nothing small, but proof that BJJ is more effective.... its a grappling art, verses a fighting art...
When me and my "drunk friends" get together... I will apply the BJJ form and beat them repeatedly...
It seems that to pin someone to the ground, will effectivly keep them from offensivly moving, better than letting them work against you.....
Which means, why was Akudo ranked as number 6?????
The moral of the story.. Throw some punches at me, and I will "crimple" you with some holds that will make you cry.... heh.... its not an ego, its a I will criple you if you try and criple me" type of thing..... Amen, God is good... Study Akido and you will know God...

That Budhism art....was that Shaolin? or do you remember where shaolin was on the list anyway?
Is the BJJ kinda that fighting form that kinda looks like break dancing? I think thats what it was....BJJ sounds wicked though, a coach at my school always talks about a guy he knows who knows it and how he (the guy who knows it) thinks its the 'best' martial art form...

hey, number 1 was the ultimate- shaolin kung-fu!!!
i practiced martial arts for years and the okinawan and aikedo were always my fav, but number 1 has always been kunf fu.
i have friends who pactice royce bjj here in NY. there is a school here and is taught by one of the family members.
really not for me though. i can see that it is really good when grappling n stuff, but heck- i am gonna go to that temple. ITS HERE IN NY!!!
there are awesome wu shu, ving chung schools here too.
i have taken korean styles in the past- tae kwon do, hap ki do, and hwra rang do. all awesome, but next i am gonna go chinese and maybe japanese if i find a good aikedo school. good defence!
oh yeah, i am 100% a south park fan sice the very begining. i have almost every episode on tape, and i am buying them on dvd's too.
most see it as childish fart humor but few sit back long enough to realize that there is a very good lesson learned in just about every episode.
they are completely nuts and go about it in a very, very crude yet histerical manner!

Shaolin IS the #1?! wow thats what I've been learning. Our instructor (excuse me... our Sifu) always brags about how shaolin is the best and picks on 'hard' styles such as Do and Karate, but I always kinda figured he was just bragging...wow
and don't ask me to explain that 'feeling' an attack before it happens thing, he has talked about it before and showed us a little but I still don't get it. Supposedly it'll "just happen" and you can't be thinking about it but I'm getting off the point.
Thats so cool!
I'm learning the #1 martial art woohoo lol

Shaolin Kung Fu is AWSOME! In highschool I studied a little Jeet Kune Do and wish I was in as good of shape as I was then because I'm really drawn to Wushu ,specifically, Northern and Southern Praying Mantis and Wing Chun style. CB with all those styles you have practiced it makes a great mix if ya ever needed to use any.

i am glad i have learnedsome of that stuff! it came in handy quite a few times.
i used to be a personal security guard/ bouncer for several clubs and artists. i worked with DJ scribble, method man, a bunch of metal bands, and that all lead me to the sheriffs office and eventually the corrections dept.
i always loved the REAL martial arts. back in the day i was all nice and slim and it worked well. i got hit by a car and gained a lil' weight, thats why i want to get back into it again. mainly for health. i dont go out and fight anymore like i used to (knock on wood). i just want to be at my best. i hate running, n stuff. this is the way for me!
plain and simple!!! martial arts are awesome

Sorry to change the subject, but If you want to know how he *magically* floats in the air read on..otherwise turn away
===========================================================
If you remeber about two years back, Fox ran a series name Magics Secrets Revealed with the masked matician (who turned out to be the magician Valentino or something like that) and on the last installment of it (III or IV I believe) they revealed it. What he does is he raises the foot facing the audience or crowd for the float effect and uses the foot facing away to stand on his tip of his shoe. Because of the angle you cannot see his back foot at all so it appears he is floating, but the left foot is just hidden. That is why he makes the crowd stand to one side and about 6' away from him. Sorry I couldn't be more descriptive but if you think about it, it is very possible but very tricky..plus what if he screwed up the angle and they saw him..ha that'd be embarrasing. They also revealed the coin tricks but I cannot recall what they did..I can ask one of my friends..her mom owns the Illusions resturaunt in Indy..They have magicians walk around and do tableside magic, pretty nice service.
