I fell down the stairs
.... Well there I was... I was taking the cat to the basement and thinking "I hope I don't fall down the stairs" And what happens? I miss 3 steps... step out and land square on my ankle... not my foot... my ANKLE.... and fell right to the floor... So there I am on the floor calling for my mom and she couldnt hear me... So I crawled to the kitchen and got some ice...
My ankle hurts....

Re: I fell down the stairs
Ouch, I'm sorry that happened and hope your ankle will be okay.
I remember falling down stairs maybe.. once or twice in my life... most of the time I fall up the stairs. lol
But I've been lucky and have really twisted and fell on my ankle a couple times in my life, but no breaks.
But if the pain doesn't get any better and you get some serious swelling, you'll need some help.

Re: I fell down the stairs
Hope your ankle gets better. I know how that feels. I've certainly had my share of mishaps Whatever you do, don't come here and fall down our steps. There's a big glass windowed door to go through at the bottom.

Re: I fell down the stairs
When I was 16 yrs old I rolled my ankle misjudging a step down. It hurt for the day and 3 months later I find out I broke it. My ankle was swelliing from the tendonitis that formed from me not taknig care of it months earlier. I was placed in a splint and given physical threrapy. I was also told I would need to wear my splint when I am on my feet alot. (which is all the time)
Do you think I wear it???? No
Do you think I am having major problems 11 yrs later?? Oh yea!!!!
I'll never learn.

Re: I fell down the stairs
that sacks shannon. i hope u get better. ankle pain sucks so bad. it hurts to put any pressure on it. id give it a week, if it doesnt get better, go to the doc. my mom fell like 2 or 3 stairs and twisted her ankle bad.she never got it checked out. and like 3-4 months later, she needed a cast for her ankle because she had a slight fracture on her bone.

Re: I fell down the stairs
Ankle injuries can take months to heal! Better see a doctor if the swelling and pain are not subsiding by tomorrow.
I sprained mine really badly falling on a hillside years ago and they had to cut my beautiful, new, hip, black leather biking boot off my foot. Then, to add injury to insult - 4 months of crutches and limping and pain.
Hope you will be OK!
BTW how does one fall UP the stairs? What about gravity???

Re: I fell down the stairs
Update:
Okay Suprisingly, It doesnt hurt that much today. I thought it would hurt ALOT more judging by how hard I fell... And it was pretty hard. It feels kinda stiff and I think since I fell on my side hard aswell my leg/hip area hurt pretty bad too. But I can walk. SO thats good

Re: I fell down the stairs
that's good news
take care since it may be weaker than normal for awhile....once you roll it once it makes it more likely to roll again
