New life...
As some of you know, my wife wants a divorce. I guess she wants to start a "new life" somewhere else. I expect I'll have to do the same, although I hate change. That will probably require me to sell all my fish (Malawi cichlids) and tanks. The prospect of raiding their homes and chasing them all around with nets to sell them makes me feel really bad. Some of them have been in there all their lives, and they are getting along just fine. Only seconds ago, I just noticed a baby Yellow Labidichromis in the big tank. Just when I'm about to evict them all, I see "new life" AND there's a red zebra in there with babies in her mouth. This makes it even harder

Re: New life...
Tracy, it helps so much when I get support from you all. It makes it hurt even more when my youngest daughter says "It'll be alright Daddy". I can't make the obvious response and disagree.

Joe,
I am so sorry that this is happening to you.
It is worse when there are children involved.
I pray that everything will work out for you.

Re: New life...
A friend told me the other day, that his wife left with no warning at all. He got home from work and everything was gone, including the 2 children. All she left him was his clothes and his gun...so my new motto: Things could always be worse. I used to say "things have to get better because they can't get any worse", but then a day later they would get worse.

Re: New life...
Thanks everyone. If you think of me though, please pray for my girls. They are guaranteed to lose the most here, and they had no part in creating the problem. That's the ultimate ironic injustice.

Re: New life...
Kids are the only victims in this situation. As time moves on, as adaults we will learn that there will be another to console us in times like this. But with the kids, there is only "one set" of parents.
Prayers and best wishes to you all,
Ed

For those who don't know (ref: my first post), these fish carry their young in their mouths until they're old enough to go it alone.

Re: New life...
So sorry Joe. I have been through something similar. It was extremely painful, but the pain goes away after a while. I think the most important thing is for the kids to know you both love them and that they are in no way responsible. Small consolation but you have your RTB family in your corner.
